Get your costumes ready because Halloween is coming to Animal Land Children's Farm!
On Saturday 31st October 2026, our farm in Diggers Rest will transform into a family-friendly Halloween adventure, filled with trick or treating, spooky surprises, farm animals, live music and plenty of activities for the whole family.
Whether you're joining us for the first time or returning for another year of Halloween fun, we've got some exciting things planned.
Best of all, this special event proudly supports the Good Friday Appeal, helping raise funds for The Royal Children's Hospital.
🍬 Explore Our Halloween Trick or Treat Trail
One of the highlights of Halloween at Animal Land is our Trick or Treat Trail!
Families can make their way around the farm, visiting different stations, meeting our Halloween characters and collecting treats along the way.
Come dressed as your favourite character, whether that's a witch, superhero, ghost, pumpkin or something completely creative!
We love seeing the effort families put into their costumes, and our team will be joining in the Halloween fun too.
🤟 Something New: Our AUSLAN Secret Phrase Challenge
This year, we're introducing something a little different to our Halloween trail!
Instead of collecting traditional letters, children will discover AUSLAN alphabet hand signs at each station.
Each hand sign represents a letter of the alphabet. As you travel around the farm, you'll collect the letters and use them to work out a secret phrase on your map.
It's a fun opportunity for families to discover a little about AUSLAN, the language used by Australia's Deaf community.
We're excited to try something new and continue exploring ways to make our events more inclusive.
And here's where things get interesting!
If you're feeling brave enough to enter our Haunted House, you'll need to solve the secret phrase and say it to our team to gain entry!
👻 Are You Brave Enough for the Haunted House?
For those who enjoy a little fright, our Haunted House is waiting!
While much of our Halloween event is designed with younger children and families in mind, we've also included something for visitors who enjoy a spooky challenge.
Don't worry if your little ones aren't ready for the Haunted House. There's plenty of Halloween fun to enjoy without entering.
🎨 Messy Fun with Little Messy Learners
We're excited to welcome Little Messy Learners Ascot Vale to Animal Land this Halloween!
They'll be joining us with a messy play activity area, giving little visitors another opportunity to explore, create and enjoy some hands-on fun.
It's a lovely addition to the day's activities, especially for younger children.
🎶 Live Music, Food and Local Market Stalls
Halloween isn't just about collecting treats!
Take some time to relax and enjoy everything else happening around the farm.
Families can look forward to:
- Live music throughout the event
- Food and delicious treats available to purchase
- Local businesses showcasing their products at our market stalls
- Messy play activities for little visitors
- Halloween characters, costumes and spooky surprises
- Our friendly farm animals
Our market stalls are included within the event area, so you can browse and support local businesses as part of your Halloween visit.

A few things to remember:
- Wear comfortable, suitable footwear
